Frequently Asked Questions
How long do custom orthotics last?
Most custom orthotics last between 2 and 5 years with regular use. They can often be refurbished — with new top-covers or heel pads — to extend their life further.
Will I feel them straight away?
It's normal to need 1–2 weeks to adapt. We'll give you a wear-in schedule to gradually increase use and ensure your body adjusts comfortably.
Can I move them between shoes?
Yes, in most cases. As long as your other shoes have adequate room to accommodate an orthotic, your orthotics can be transferred between pairs.
Do I need a GP referral?
No — you can book directly with us. However, if you'd like to claim through Medicare or DVA, a GP referral may be required for those funding pathways.
How quickly can I get my orthotics?
Because we manufacture in-house right here in Ipswich, most patients receive their orthotics within 1–2 weeks of their assessment.
