Privacy Policy

We are a health service provider, so we are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What This Website Collects

This website is deliberately simple. It loads no third-party scripts, sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and does not use analytics. Nothing on a page you merely read is sent anywhere.

The only information the website collects is what you type into the contact form:

  • Your name and phone number, which are required so we can call you back
  • Your email address and preferred clinic, if you provide them
  • Whatever you write in the message field

Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider and emailed to our reception team. We ask you not to include sensitive medical details in the form — we will take those over the phone or at your appointment, where they can be recorded properly in your clinical record.

Like virtually all web hosting, our host records technical information such as IP address and browser type for security and reliability. We do not use that information to identify individuals.

Information We Collect at the Clinic

When you attend an appointment we collect the personal and health information needed to assess and treat you safely — contact and Medicare or fund details, your relevant medical history, the findings of our examination, and the care we provide. This forms your clinical record.

How We Use It

  • To provide podiatry assessment, treatment and follow-up
  • To contact you about appointments
  • To claim or process payment through Medicare, DVA, NDIS, WorkCover or your health fund, where that applies to you
  • To communicate with your GP or other treating practitioners where that is relevant to your care
  • To meet our legal, professional and record-keeping obligations

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unrelated to your care.

Who We May Share It With

Only where it is necessary for your care, required to process a claim you have asked us to make, or required by law. That can include your GP or specialist, a funding body such as Medicare, DVA, NDIS, WorkCover or your private health fund, and the service providers who run our practice software and email under confidentiality obligations.

Keeping It Secure

This website is served over HTTPS, so anything you submit is encrypted in transit. Clinical records are held in our practice management system with access limited to those who need it. Health records are retained for the period required by law, which is generally seven years from the last occasion of service, or until a young patient turns 25.

Accessing or Correcting Your Information

You can ask to see the personal and health information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate. Contact us and we will explain the process and any circumstances in which access may be limited by law.

Questions or Complaints

If you are concerned about how we have handled your information, please contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly once we understand the problem.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or to the Office of the Health Ombudsman in Queensland.
